What is an Orderpicker?

The ideal Order Picker is a go-getter and likes to roll up his sleeves. In this logistical role, you will collect orders and make sure that they are shipped out on time. During these activities, you keep your eyes open for deviations in the warehouse. So that everything remains neat and orderly for you and your colleagues.

The ideal candidate for this position has no problem with heavy physical work and working in shifts. The orders are prepared throughout the day so order pickers must also be present throughout the day.

Duties of an Orderpicker

As an Order Picker you will work on the following tasks:

  • Work within the logistics department
  • Responsible for collecting goods in the warehouse using an order picking form or a scanner
  • Under supervision of an experienced colleague/manager, the Orderpicker takes into account the routing in the warehouse and characteristics of the goods
  • During picking, the Orderpicker checks the goods for correctness and damage, among other thins. Notabel or goods that do not meet the requirements, the Orderpicker reports to an experienced colleague and/or the supervisor, and records this in a computerized system
  • Putting away the collected goods at the designated landing place
  • When appriopriate, the Orderpicker loads the truck. The Orderpicker cleans up the resources used and the workplace

What can you earn as an Orderpicker

An Order Picker's salary averages around €2,400 gross per month. However, this is not a starting salary for this position but depends on the experience and age of the employees.
