The Logistics Teamleader is the head of the logistics department and manages warehouse workers, forklift drivers, order pickers, reach truck drivers and logistics staff. As a logistics team leader, it is important that you understand how the logistics process works. It is your job to make this process run as smoothly as possible. At MBO level 4, we offer a Logistic Supervisor course, which prepares you for this job. During this course you will learn to manage and to know the logistics process inside out.
As a logistics team leader, you have rich duties. You start by preparing and distributing the work of the logistics team. This way the team can start immediately when it arrives at the warehouse. In addition, the team leader checks whether the work is carried out in the right way and speed. In addition to checking the work, the team leader also controls the inventory of the warehouse, monitors the receipt and storage of goods, and records the incoming and outgoing goods. Together with other team leaders or logistics colleagues, you will discuss the improvement of the process or sub-processes in order to create the optimal working environment and operations.
Matching logistics jobs require a number of competencies. These include leadership of course, but also being communicatively strong. You also work neatly, structured, flexible and result-oriented. In addition, you have the ability to constantly motivate others.
On average, the salary of a Logistics Team Leader is around €3,100 gross per month. However, this is not a starting salary for this position but depends on the experience and age of the employees.
