Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have a technical education?

Yes, most of the time. An MBO diploma in engineering (such as mechanical or electrical engineering) is often the basis. Through a BBL-route you can also enter without a diploma.

A troubleshooting technician solves acute problems, while a technical service employee also focuses on preventive maintenance, inspections and improvements.

Not always. Many technical departments work during the day, but with 24-hour production, some companies run breakdown or on-call shifts.

You can advance to maintenance coordinator, malfunction specialist, technical service team leader or towards work preparation and engineering.

The variety. Every day is different, you solve real problems and literally keep production running. Not routine, but satisfying.
