Job Application Guide

What do you consider when applying and how does it work?

Applying for a job feels like a natural thing for some and a big step for others. Wherever you are and however much experience you have: at Job Invest we like to keep it simple and clear. This guide tells you everything you need to know about applying for a job in the Netherlands and how our application process works.

How do you apply to job invest?

We keep it simple, because applying for a job doesn't have to be complicated at all. Here's our roadmap from application to your new job:

You start with one click. View our vacancies, choose the job that appeals to you and apply directly online. CV at hand? Great! No resume? Also good. we'd love to get to know you in an interview.

Should you not find a suitable vacancy? No problem either. Do a open application And we will look for you!

You'll hear from us within two business days. We'll call or schedule an appointment. During the introduction we will discuss who you are, what you want and what you bring. This can be done by phone, via Teams or at our office, whichever is convenient for you.

Together we look at where your qualities can be best showcased. Sometimes you match immediately with the vacancy you applied for, but it may also be that we have an even better option for you. Our goal: a job that suits you!

Is there a click? Then we introduce you to the company. You get a tour or an interview with your future manager. That way you can see for yourself if the workplace and the team feel right.

Congratulations, you're getting started! We make sure your contract is in place, that you have everything you need (for example, work clothes or housing if needed) and that you know exactly where to go. Your supervisor will take you through the day-to-day.

We don't let you go once you've started. We stay in touch to check how things are going, answer your questions and help where necessary. If something isn't going well, we'll fix it together with you and the company.

Applying for a job without experience

Think you don't stand a chance because you don't have experience yet? Wrong thinking. Especially in sectors such as production, logistics and engineering there are plenty of entry-level features.

What employers care about:

  • Motivation: show that you want to learn.

  • Deployment: arriving on time and keeping your appointments.

  • Flexibility: be willing to try new things.

Many companies train you internally and provide on-the-job training. That way you learn the trade while you work and earn a salary right away. A degree is often nice to have, but certainly not always necessary.

Tips to make your job application stand out

1
Prepare
Learn about the company and the position.
2
Come on time
First impressions are very important.
3
Be honest
State clearly what you are good at and what suits you less. Then we will find the position that suits you perfectly.
4
Ask questions
Questions show that you are serious.
5
Be yourself
We seek not only skills but also personalities that fit the team.

Can you apply if you don't speak Dutch?

You don't speak Dutch? No problem. The Netherlands is international and many companies work in teams with multiple languages.

  • English is often enough: in many companies, English is the working language.

  • Other languages also help: Sometimes Spanish or Polish is spoken in teams.

  • We support: Our coordinators speak multiple languages and make sure you understand everything.

  • Learn Dutch: Do you want to advance? Then it is useful to learn (basic) Dutch. There are many language courses you can take alongside your work.

So language is not a barrier to entry.
